What is Capillary Microscopy?

Capillary microscopy, also known as nailfold capillaroscopy or videocapillaroscopy, is a safe, non-invasive imaging technique used to examine the microcirculation in the capillaries of the nailfold (the skin at the base of the fingernail).

At ATC Nottingham, this technique allows our trained professionals to visualize and assess the tiny blood vessels (capillaries) in your nailfold. By analyzing the structure, density, and blood flow within these capillaries, we can gain valuable insights into your overall vascular health and identify potential early signs of various conditions.
